calculate your carbon dioxide emission … and pay your carbon offset!!!
Monday, June 25th, 2007
for my last trip to germany i decided to pay for my carbon dioxide emission, since i love my family but i also love this planet :)
at terrapass.com it is pretty easy to calculate your CO2 emission:
just go to the website, pick your flight destination(s) and the website will tell you how many miles and how many lbs of CO2 you have to balance.
in my case:
11,298 miles which equals 4,406 lbs CO2 !!!
i never thought it is that much … 2 tons of CO2 … aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh
anyway … the price is $36.95 which gives me room for another 8,000 miles … and of course you get one of those TerraPass luggage tags, stating that you are a carbon balanced flyer … i predict that girls will be impressed ;)
of course, you can t buy yourself out of polluting the environment but the money you donate supports energy projects that balance out your flight’s climate impact and moves us all ahead on the road to a future of clean, renewable energy (e.g. wind energy, biomass, industrial efficiency)
in case you wanna check out the stuff by yourself, this website might be helpful:
